1. Ensure the surface is flat and well drained. Cut the grass short. Fill any depressions on the grassed surface with a 70/30 mix of sharp sand and seeded topsoil. Tamp to make repaired area firm.
2. It's advisable to unroll the mesh and leave for an hour. This helps the mesh regain its natural flatness.
3. Lay the mesh directly onto the grassed area and fix one edge using metal Upins, keep the mesh taut as you pin. For external edges it is advised that you pin every 300mm to 500mm (12'' - 20'') to ensure the mesh lays flat.
4. Along the middle of the mesh pin every 1m to 2m (3' - 6')
5. Alway butt the joints, do not overlap.
6. Secure butt joints with Upins at 500mm (20'') intervals, each pin to secure both pieces of mesh. Repeat stage 4 for every roll.
7. If required blind the mesh with a mixture of sharp sand and grass seed.
8. For best results leave the covered area for 3 to 4 weeks to allow the grass to grow through.
Between the months of March through to September are the best times to lay the mesh.
9. Once the grass has grown through, initial mowing can be done, set the mower height slightly more than normal so not to make contact with the mesh. In time the roots of the grass will entwine with the mesh and normal cutting can take place.
10. If any of the mesh begin to raise just secure it with more Upins.
